Sewer project expected to bring traffic, delays on roadway near Holland Tunnel

The lane closures are necessary for the rehabilitation of a 48-inch by 36-inch brick sewer.
Motorists should expect heavy traffic and delays Thursday morning on the approach to the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City while emergency sewer rehabilitation work begins.  Starting at 10 a.m.
Thursday, and continuing for two weeks, the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority will be closing the two eastbound lanes of 12th Street between Jersey Avenue and Marin Boulevard.
The state Department of Transportation is encouraging motorists to consider alternate routes for the next two weeks while the work is being done.  The lane closures are necessary for the rehabilitation of a 48-inch by 36-inch brick sewer along 12th Street.
