Though many were glued to the TV to watch Alicia Keys‘ hosting duties, the performances and big winners at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday, PEOPLE was also watching for the action off-camera and backstage.

On the Red Carpet Lady Gaga and Robin Thicke walked alongside each other on the carpet where Thicke, who is expecting his third child with pregnant fiancée April Love Geary, introduced Gaga to his son, Julian.
The Star Is Born actress, 32, and the 8-year-old, whose mom is actress Paula Patton, had a cute moment where she bent down to say hello.
Post Malone was among the few who stopped to take selfies with fans as he sweetly threw up the peace sign for most of them.

It was date night for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, who walked hand-in-hand on the carpet.
Once again the retired MLB star was seen being the perfect Instagram boyfriend.
And what’s a Grammys red carpet without huge entourages? Malone and Cardi B were some of the stars joined by a large group of friends and crew.
Inside the Show Gaga was spotted breaking it down and whipping her hair around in the front row during Janelle Monaé‘s performance.
Meanwhile, Meghan Trainor and her new husband, Daryl Sabara, were some of the few standing up and dancing the entire time.

Lo finally took off her giant embellished hat (which matched her opulent embellished high-neck Ralph & Russo gown) to the visible relief of the audience members behind her.

Several in the audience were visibly moved and wowed by Brandi Carlile, who received a standing ovation before she completed her set.
After Cardi B won her best rap album award, a woman fell on stage and was helped by production.
Dua Lipa’s acceptance speech for best new artist was cut off due to length but that didn’t stop her from continuing to talk to the audience.
Though the music was getting increasingly loud, she spoke about how anyone can achieve their dreams and she’s achieved hers.
